Moving
Guess what? I'm moving! Hanna and I found a great deal on a two bedroom apartment in the arboretum. We'll be saving like $200 each month. And for people of our socioeconomic level this is a big deal. We went ahead and signed and put a deposit down and everything. It was even perfect for our move in date. The funny thing is that I was all excited about duplexes in the far west area and Hanna said she wanted to check out this apartment in the arboretum, I was like okay whatever. We went to see them and we ended up both really wanting to move to the apartment. Yay, I feel like celebrating!

Cancelling my Cell Phone
So I'm doing it, I'm cancelling my cell phone. I didn't want it to be this way but I just can't afford it. Farewell dear cell phone, it was nice year of reaching out and touching someone. My cell phone will be cancelled on July 11. My home phone still works. Peace out!

Hanna's B-day Karaoke Ruled
So last friday night Hanna had her birthday party at Austin Karaoke. It was a blast! Bryan, Paul, Lau Dog and I were there with Hanna serenading her or letting her serenade us until the wee, and I mean wee hours of the morning. We got our own private room, it was BYOB and we didn't have to listen to crappy people we didn't know nor did we have to wait for them. Hanna and I lost our voices almost trying to sing this unbelievable Evanescence song. Paul sang lots of oldies, Bryan sang Du Hast by Rammstein, Bryan and I sang "All I want" by Toad the wet Sprocket, Lau and I sang Ode to my Family by the Cranberries to name a few...there were so many awesome moments especially when we didn't really know the song too well. Go us, and I'm so glad Hanna had such a good time on her b-day. Seriously this has to be repeated because it was so fun. Yay Hanna!!! On Sat Lau, Hanna and I all went to Nomadic Notions and made jewelery. I learned some new techniques with wire and made a cool pair of earrings, so did Hanna, hers are so hip!! Lau made a necklace for her aunt which I thought was lovely. Being creative was so much fun, I'm going to have to go back and make more stuff soon. On Sat night, Josh and Jacqueline came over for dinner and then we went out to see the movie "Crash." I highly recommend it. We also had a really nice time. What a great weekend.

Angry Old Lady Alert
So I've spent the last two nights at home watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer season four. It's not that I couldn't find something else to do, I guess I could but I'm comfortable and enjoying wallowing in my self pity. We all have those days. It's like I'm waiting for my next move but I can't figure out what that is. I have this big gaping hole in my life and I don't want to rush out there and just fill it with whatever I can find. I'd rather wallow and think and plan and hope and dream. So if it means I'm a bit pathetic right now, so be it! I'd rather be sour than desperate. And damn it, I have chocolate ice cream and I'm not afraid to use it, uh that is consume it. So there!! So there to all the poopy heads! I've turned enough anger into depression and sadness. I'm done with that. Now I'm just mad. No worries I know that I can't ever stay mad long, it's just against my character.

Coldplay - The Scientist
"Nobody said it was easy, it's such a shame for us to part. Nobody said it was easy, no one ever said it would be so hard." Ahhh Coldplay, they have such awesome lyrics.

Good News About Garza High School
http://www.austinchronicle.com/issues/dispatch/2005-06-10/pols_feature8.html
This article does a really good job of describing what's wrong with high schools today. There are no easy answers but at least it's nice to know that Garza where I work is doing something right. Check it out!
Also, I saw a folk/old timey band called the Family Jewels at Ruta Maya on South Congress last night. My friend Lauren is their percussionist extrordinaire, she plays the washboard and the drums. I had a great time with Hanna and Lauren. We even did a small jam after the concert outside, I played the washboard. It was really fun, austin creative type stuff to do on a Wed evening.

My Hair
Sounds really vain giving my hair a blog title, but seriously I'm so glad I cut it off. Even my students, who never say anything to me liked it. Sweet!! Just makes me feel good.

Good Times
I've had such a good weekend and am feeling pretty stoked about life. Hahaha I used the word stoked. You know when you feel like things are changing for the better, things are becoming clearer, the world is your oyster, well that's how I feel today. Hanna and I are looking at new places to live today. Who knows if we'll move or not. I think we are both ready for a change. She might move to Korea sometime soon. I hope I can at least have one more lease with her, she's the best! Here's something funny and stupid:
What is your Icecream Flavour?

| Your Icecream Flavour is...Neopolitan! |
You aren't satisfied with just one flavor. They say variety is the spice of life and this shines through in your Ice cream of choice! Just don't eat all the chocolate and leave the strawberry and vanilla behind! |

Homestarrunner
Tonight I went to the Alamo Drafthouse Downtown and saw a homestarrunner.com special with Zach and his friend Ty. The three creators of the online cartoons were there to host it and do a Q&A at the end. The guys were hilarious and it was neat to know that they were able to make their living off the site by selling t-shirts. They talked about how the singer from They Might Be Giants was a fan of theirs and contacted them to do some collaborations and how honored they were. It's nice when truly funny and creative people are able to make a living doing what they love and only work 30 hours a week. They said they had no plans to make homestarrunner a TV thing and work super long hours and answer to TV execs. Amen, I say. So anyways go buy a trogdor t-shirt or something and support these guys!!

Owwwwie
When I was in the hospital at age 4 for a weirdo reaction to getting chicken pox I would cry loudly everytime they took my blood which was several times a day. (They couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. My joints were so stiff and sore I was in a wheelchair and I developed some funky hives. I finally broke out with the pox and they put two and two together.) My mom tried to calm me down and instructed me to say owwwwie when it hurt but not to cry. So I heeded my mom's advice and started saying owwwie. I remember this clearly, it's one of my first memories, what a sweet mommie.

Vacation
So I'm having a nice relaxing week off. I got my stupid window fixed YAY!! I washed and vacuumed my car. Today I'm going to get my hair cut off...finally. Sweet.
Quick note: I would appreciate it if all comments had a name to them or I will be erasing them. Not to be rude but this is my personal website. If it is from a friend I'd hope they'd be honest and either call me or email me if it's that important. Thanks.
