Being a Teacher's Assistant
I'm on day two of being a teacher's assistant and I love it! It's very exhausting at times and you are often pulled in a million different directions but it's engaging and soul fulfilling. I'm so glad I'm here. I'm so thankful that I'm no longer behind a desk for eight drudging hours. Right now I'm just getting used to expectations and I'm getting use to the pace, it's so different from an old office job. Oh I'm so where I need to be right now! I apologize right now if you don't hear from me for awhile, trying to balance school and a new job is tough and I feel like sleeping every day when I get off work. Not today though, I go directly to San Marcos for class. It's going to be a long, long day. :)

Bathhouses in Hot Springs
So Missy and I started our trek to get her back to Law school in Indiana this past Saturday. We stopped in Dallas for the night and stayed at AJ's house, got some awesome sushi at a place called Chaucer's that was more of a nightspot than a restaurant. Chaucer's had a electronica DJ. So we were dancing in our chairs as we ate our sushi. Pretty cool! Then we made our way to hot springs, found a hotel, lost a bank card, ate a great steak dinner and crashed. This morning I charged Missy's laptop and we found "free" wireless outside of a MRI doctor's office so I could register for classes. We finally made our way downtown and toured one of the old bath houses of the 20's. Beautiful architecture! So opulent! The Hot Springs have long been a place where people have come to heal their aliments or just relax. So we decided we wanted to see what was going to a bathhouse was all about. We went to the Buckstaff Bathhouse, the last bathhouse still operational on bathhouse row from the 20's. All of the other ones are being preserved or are already museums. We had a nice soak in a whirlpool mineral bath in the orignal huge porceline tubs, then a smaller soak of our lower bath in a bath called the Sitz bath, it uses higher temperatures and is for lower back problems and hemeroids the sign said. Then you get stuck in a steam chamber with only your head sticking out. Next you get hot towels with mineral water put on your back or whereever you need. Next you they put you in a shower with a million shower heads that spray all around your body but don't spray down on your head. Then on the massage!!! To end it all I got a nice massage with lotion that had been heated by the natural spring water, which comes up from the ground at about 143 degrees. And for about 40 bucks, and an hour and a half later, it was totally worth it!!!!! This trip has been great, now on to Memphis and Graceland, uh uh huh, oooo, oh yeah, I'm all shook up!!!

The Answer is No
So I got an email today and the answer was no, I didn't get that job at UT, I'm disappointed but I did get a call from AISD and might possibly have an interview with AISD to be a teacher's assistant with a bilingual/special ed class at an elementary class. God works in mysterious ways...big sigh

Taken Care Of
I am so blessed in my life. As things have come crashing down on me, ie bills, bills, bills, illness and the bills that go with that, and bills, my family and friends have offered me help in terms of money and emotional support. I don't deserve it but they love me anyways and want to help me succeed in this crazy world. I am so grateful for their help. I'm constantly getting choked up as I tell other friends how they've helped me. One small example, I got down to my last migraine pill, they cost about $170 retail no insurance for 9 pills, with the rate of my headached I've gone through a pack in two weeks. It's a scary state of affairs for me, on a thursday I knew I had a doctor's appointment I was going to have to cancel but I needed to go to get my medicine refilled and another adjusted. One sweet family member wrote me a check for the medicine and the other wrote me a check for the doctor's appointment all in the nick of time before I cancelled the appointment. I had already called once and almost cancelled it. Phewwwwww.... So much love, thank you all so much!!!!!
Yesterday, I had a second interview with UT Graduate School of Information, Job Services Office, it went really well and today I'm just nervously waiting...biting nails...but I know God will take care of me either way. And it felt good to have two good interviews with nice, interesting people. And it was good practice if I don't get the job. So here I am listening to some Beatles...feeling grateful. Also, my new roommate Hanna moves in on August 16th. She's pretty awesome, I can't wait for everyone to meet her:)
Tomorrow night, I wanna go out on the town....to either celebrate the job or to drown my sorrows in some ice cream, so email me or call me and lets meet at my house.
